Oooooh, excitement has been palpable, here at Pattern Pyramid central. As most of you know, this original idea was started by Karen at Did you Make That? and has been kept going by other wonderful sewing bloggers around the world starting their own Pyramid! Here is the information about this Pattern Pyramid that I was lucky enough to win and to it, I also added a Sew Grateful Giveaway gift, consisting of a book titled “I Made It Myself“.
So, we began with printing out all the entrants, like so:Then, Kitty donned his track suit, and began warming up for the official officiating ceremony.
Kitty likes to pace himself and start out slow.
Okay, VERY slow, but he did not want to get ahead of himself. Before you know it, since Kitty is quite an impressive athlete, his warm-up turns into a frenzy of herculean feats. So much so, that it is often difficult to capture his powerful and agile qualities on film. Kitty tends to leap right out of camera view!!
Afterwards, when kitty was all limber, the entrants names were attached to the official Olympic Kitty Torch, like so:
Kitty took his job very seriously, staked out the Torch carefully looking for his best port of entry.
Kitty approached from different vantage points, meticulously stalking the Torch, trying to mentally out-wit it. Begging the question, “Will Kitty actually pounce on Torch, thereby selecting a winning name???” Kitty “tests” the Torch, sizing up his opponent’s strength and skill.
Just when you thought it was all only a mind game, Kitty GOES FOR IT!!
AMAZING!!! Will these feats of unbelievable artistic athleticism result in a name being revealed??? Or will we have to do this all over again?? A tense yet exciting moment! Let’s wait and see….
And, a name comes down!!!! Torn valiantly from the Olympic Torch by our very own brave Kitty. Well done Sir!!! Kitty investigates the winning name.
And the winner is Kaitui Kiwi!!!!
Congratulations to Kaitui Kiwi from The Curious Kiwi. We are all so Happy for you!! And Pattern Pyramid gets to travel, yet again, to the area of the land down under, all the way to Wellington, New Zealand! It is getting out its sunscreen now.
I will contact you, Kaitui Kiwi for your snail mail and then send off the Pattern Pyramid and the “I Made it Myself” book to you.
Kitty is so awesome at choosing ways to pick winners. What a great job you did kitty.
Kitty knows…..Kitty knows. LOL. 🙂
This is such a great idea! Fun for the kitty and fun for us!
Thanks! Yes, anything fun for kitty is fun for us. At least that’s what he thinks :).
wow kitty! You rock! How do you think up such fantastic ways of choosing winners?
Well, Kitty is just that talented. And he loves to pick a winner!
Lordie, Girl, how do ever get any sewing done with such a fun kitty to keep you amused and amazed??? She should be in commercials earning her tuna casserole! The best name selection for the Pyramid Patterns yet! And to think all I did was ask Mr Mole to wear a blindfold/sleep mask and pick a name…how utterly boring! Nice to see the patterns travel the world!
Lol, Actually, Mrs. Mole, I was JUST saying exactly this, that now I can finally get back to my sewing! And, Kitty will give serious thought to that advice about commercials…..We’re both so pleased that you think it is the best name selection yet!! 🙂 How flattering!
And, well, I’m sure Mr. Mole at least had some fun with picking a name. Even if it can’t compare to the talents of one rather famous Kitty!
Oh yay, I am so excited. I have replied to your email. Aww I love your kitty so much, he must love me too 😉 xx
Oh, yay, the winner!!!! Kitty is so glad you love him. Everybody does (or so he tells me to say).
And, he would like to point out, that NO funny stuff went on in this draw, no tuna or belly-rub bribes were accepted, he keeps everything on the up and up! So, your name was torn down from the torch, fair and square.
But, having said that, yes, he does love you too :).
Awesome, it is good that Kitty is as fair as he is cute 😉
Kitty would also like to add some quotes from Kaitui Kiwi’s email that she just sent us as he enjoys spreading around compliments that he receives. And he quotes:
“Oh wow, that is AWESOME! Your kitty is so clever, what a neat way to chose a winner 🙂 Thank you so much!
I am so excited, now I have to chose which pattern and I will be happy to add another pattern in to keep the fun sewing love going around the world.
Have a great day xx
Mel :)”
You’re Welcome Mel!
Best giveaway post ever.
Thanks so much missjoiedevivre! So glad you enjoyed it. We enjoyed hosting it! 🙂
Kitty missed his chance at a fresh pink salmon. Oh well.
Apparently that vintage Butterick is not going to be mine. Yet.
Lol. SO Sorry Elle C!! Kitty did briefly debate your bribe…..but, alas, as the above post states, he is fair to the bone. He can’t help it, he has high moral fibre. But, we don’t know what pattern will be removed from the Pyramid, thereby giving you yet another possible chance to go for the vintage Butterick! Good Luck!! Kitty is crossing his paws for you 🙂
A thank you to Kitty and everyone for the best way to start the day: Laughing!
Lol. Kitty and I are so pleased we started your day off right!! (And Kitty is sure you are laughing WITH him, not AT him). 🙂
Oh my goodness, that is one athletic kitty! I love this series of shots. Good picking, little kitty.
Thanks so much! 🙂 Not always easy to do, photograph pets, especially one as athletic as Kitty. But, he’s also a model, among his other talents, so it makes the picture taking and selection much easier.
Well you’ve done very well. I always pat myself on the back when I get a good kitty shot, as they are often hard to do.
Love this.
Go Kitty…. he’s a super sewing hero!! He’s got so much talent and really loves getting involved in everything and anything to do with sewing. Catja you did a great fun job with this pattern pyramid and you deserve just as much credit as Kitty. Love it and it was super fun and entertaining. Congratulations to the winner and I’m sure she’ll be so grateful of Kitty’s super sewing hero talents… big Cheers for Kitty!
Lol, he totally IS a Super Sewing Hero!! Thanks for your compliments, Chris. Although not sure Kitty would agree that I deserve just as much credit as him…..Happy to entertain you, it was fun for Kitty and I as well!
What a great athlet is your Kitty and what a great job did Kitty!
Kitty would like to Thank You! And, yes, he is quite the athlete. He is part Bengal, which is very close to a wild cat, so he’s quite large and athletic. AND, he loves to entertain. 🙂
Kitty for the win! He’s so playful and athletic, and it’s amazing how well you got him on the pictures. In mine my bosses turn up without a head or tail when they are playing and I try to take their picture.
Thank you! I know, it is SO difficult photographing pets! But, luckily, he’s quite a tolerant kitty, so I get “do-overs” for the pics that didn’t work out. And, hey, there is quite a few of kitty without a head,as well, as he jumps right out of camera view a lot of the time!
This is most impressive. MY cats best trick is projectile vomiting kibble at inconvenient times. I really enjoyed this post!
Thank you!! And Kitty also thanks you! So happy you enjoyed it! Well, Kitty has offered to give your cats training in….well, anything that is not projectile vomiting related. Tell them his people will call their people. 🙂
Im truly embarassed by my felines nakedness, now too!
Lol. Poor naked felines. Kitty has quite the wardrobe going.
Omgosh! that was was the most fun ever. I was laughing from the first frame. I LOVE all those action shoots and not easy to get with a camera BRAVO. The little jacket is a marvel…LOL I could never get that on Petals, she just would have none of it. The Olympic’s only wish they were so clever. Congratulations to the winner.
Yay! Glad you had fun viewing it! It is Kitty’s aim is to please and delight, for sure. And, his little jacket is actually pink velour with a hoodie and front zipper. Seriously!
Forget random.org! This is the best way I’ve seen to pick a winner to-date. Awesome!
Thanks! :). Yes, I have to say, even without Kitty to ‘help’, random.org is pretty boring. And when you have Kitty, well, there’s simply no substitute. Glad you enjoyed it!
Athletic prowess AND a pink sweatshirt. I just wish your cat had been here for the London Olympics…
Lol, thanks Karen! Yes, he’s quite keen on that sweatshirt, pink velour with a hood and front zip. He also believes that he would have seriously spiced up the opening ceremonies in London. :). Thanks for starting such a good idea! It has given much joy to many people, and kitties.
Wow – you’ve set a whole new standard for giveaways! Love your cat’s expression at the end.
Hee hee. Yes, Kitty does set a very high bar, doesn’t he?
How on earth did you get your kitty to dress up, mine won’t have a bar of it! He is truly adorable – great and fun idea!!
Aw, thank you! Well, I’m quite lucky to have a sewing companion like Kitty. He’s quite a star (especially in his own mind). 🙂
that is awesome – love it!
Thank you! From both Kitty and I. 😉
How kool is Kitty?? Well done Kaitui Kiwi. Kitty’s a hard act to follow.
Kitty is uber cool, (he told me to say that). And, ya, he sets a high standard, will be a hard act to follow. He’s hosted another giveaway on my blog, here: https://gjeometry.com/2013/01/15/kitty-picks-a-winner-eventually/
And, he will have to outdo himself for the next giveaway!
LOL, you just made my morning!!!!! Too cute!!!!
🙂 So happy to hear that. It is Kitty’s aim to delight and entertain.
This is so awesome. I’m not sure I have words.
Lol. Thanks! That made me laugh. Well, your presence is enough. Words are not necessary. Kitty knows how fabulous he is, anyway.
That is one clever action-cat! Nice pictures:)
Thank you!! Yes, he’s quite the athlete and always on the move, that one.
I’ve got such a miserable day ahead and this has just turned my grousing face upside down! Absolutely nothing short of brilliant. What a stunning and clever kitty. Love it!
Thank you so much! And Kitty, of course concurs that he is a stunning and clever kitty. 🙂 We are both so happy it turned your day around for the better.
Totally bonkers! Well done Kitty
🙂 Kitty bows, respectfully.
I’ve come back to read this post about 20x now. Even my boyfriend likes it and he’s usually not into sewing blogs 🙂
Lol. Thank you so much, Kriston! And to your boyfriend, as well. Kitty does have that effect on people. He’s naturally charismatic :). Feel free to drop by anytime.
I am so impressed. Not only do you get the cat to wear clothing, then you have it working to create blog content! Seriously, what a creative idea.
Hi Lizzie, thanks so much for stopping by! Kitty is delighted he could impress you :). It’s really not all that hard to be creative when you have a super sewing hero like Kitty to help. Glad you enjoyed it!
